Zonar has introduced a new rugged tablet, a model with an interesting niche market, truck drivers. This model is supposed to be faster, more responsive and higher performing than its predecessor.

It comes with a fleet manager and a suite of tools that lets companies monitor their cars better. Zonar Connect has 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and a quad core CPU clocked at 1 GHz, plus it runs on Android. It also brings Bluetooth, WiFi, LTE, NFC and RFID. The battery provides 3 days of continuous usage, or 10 days of standby.

Charging is done in the device’s cradle in the cab of the truck. Connect also works outside of the cab, letting the driver submit completed documents and EVIR inspections to the dispatch and not need to return to the cabin. Connectivity between vehicles, drivers and fleet management functions are all here. Vehicle health, efficiency and more are all assessed here. Additionally, there are truck driving courses available for drivers to improve their skills and stay updated on best practices.

There’s Zonar’s Ground Traffic Control preinstalled, letting fleets get better visibility of assets on the road.
