Samsung announced its Galaxy Tab A slate series in mid March and now the 8 inch model of the series is prepping for release in China. At least that’s the hint we’re getting from the device’s recent TENAA certification. The product was present in the authority’s database, with the codename SM-T355C.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A, the 8 inch model that’s been certified has a starting price of $275, at least internationally. It goes up to $340 for the LTE unit and specs include a 4:3 format and a modest 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. The screen is a TFT and the new slate measures 7.4 mm in thickness and comes in black or white. Galaxy Tab A comes with a quad core 1.2 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.
We’ve got a 5 MP back camera, 2 MP front shooter and a microSD card slot. The OS is Lollipop with TouchWiz on top. Bluetooth and USB are also here, plus a light sensor. The device seems to be made of plastic and its format isn’t every different from the one of the Galaxy Tab S models from last year, maybe wider this time.
