ViewSonic showed us quite a bunch of products over the past month, with the appealing ViewPad 7 being the most detailed of them and the ViewPad 100 also looking good. The later gets a close up live, as shown by SlashGear in the following shots and we learn that this is a 10 inch dual boot slate, running Android/Windows 7.
Last we heard, the ViewPad 100 was packing a 1024 x 600 multitouch capacitive touchscreen, an Atom N455 processor and 1GB of DDR3 memory. However, the ViewPad 100 is only in prototype phase and it’s running Android 1.6 at the moment, but we’re hoping for a more evolved version of the OS. Apparently, ViewSonic is also considering Google Chrome OS for the device.
As mentioned before, this is a dual boot device, one that also runs Windows 7 Home Premium, an OS that doesn’t necessarily provide the ideal touch experience. A stylus is also included for better input and there’s no 3G, in case you’re wondering. A 16GB SSD, memory card slot and WiFi fill in the specs list of the device that should cost $769 when it launches in October 2010.
