It appears that not only Samsung has a Note in its portofolio, but starting today ASUS also does, the FonePad Note shown below. The device just debuted at Computex, confirming last week’s rumors, that talked about a stylus-based device with a big diagonal.
The FonePad Note packs a 6 inch 1080p Super IPS+ display, with 450 nits brightness and it also packs a digital stylus for taking notes and drawing. The product relies on a 1.6 GHz dual core Intel Atom Z2560 processor, so it’s all x86 nowadays, as Samsung also unveiled an Intel-based slate. The FonePad Note brings 2 GB of RAM, HSPA+ connectivity with 42 Mbps download, but sadly no LTE.
At the back of the device we’ve got an 8 megapixel camera, while upfront there’s a 1.2 MP camera. ASUS chose to implement the speakers at the front, one at the top and the other at the bottom, much like on the HTC One. The device’s pricing and availability weren’t announced, but I’m sure we’ll have a great summer/autumn, with this model duelling the Galaxy Note 3.
