Every once in a while we stop and gaze in wonder at the clones of some major flagships out there, like the Galaxy S III or Galaxy Note II. The latest such knockoff is the Owen V9, a 5.7 inch clone of the Galaxy Note II, that you can check out below. The similarity of the facade is truly stunning…

Owen V9 borrows the design and styling from the Galaxy Note II, but makes the screen larger. Sadly, it doesn’t also keep the high end specs, opting for a more midrange or even low end setup. Inside this Chinese device there’s a dual core Mediatek MT6577 processor, accompanied by 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of ROM. The phablet stands out from similar clones through its resolution: 1280 x 720 pixels. Usually, such copycats only support something like 480 x 800 pixels or qHD.

Owen V9 is a dual SIM device with dual standby, an 8 megapixel camera at the back and a body that measures 9.6 mm in thickness. Sadly, the battery hasn’t been supersized like the display, so it’s a 2250 mAh unit, much poorer than the Galaxy Note II power source, that gave us 2 days of use.
