Archos is a familiar figure on the Android market, though their products are not exactly popular. They manage to offer affordable products while keeping the build quality at an above average level, making their products attractive to customers. One of their latest products in the 80 Cobalt – running ICS in a dual-core configuration.

The Archos 80 Cobalt offers an interesting device, with a curved plastic casing, though it looks somewhat bulky. It features a 8-inch display, offering 1024 x 768 pixels resolution in a 4:3 aspect ratio. The device is powered by a dual core 1.6 GHz CPU and integrates a quad-core GPU. There is 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and a Micro SD slot (SDHC compatible) Up to 64 GB. The 2 MP camera resides on the back of the device while on the front we find a 0.3 MP image sensor. The tablet runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Archos hasn’t revealed any info regarding the price of the tablet though it is expected it will be priced lower than the Nexus 7.
