We’re all drooling at the perspective of handling a decent iPad rival and HP Slate seems to fit the bill, for now. The device recently got detailed, thanks to a bunch of specs leaked on the web and now we can check it out on video, this time not running Adobe Flash and Air, but getting portrayed in a promotional video, at the end of the article.

Apparently, the device sports a 8.9 inch 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive multitouch display, a 1.6 GHz Atom Z530 processor, 1080p playback support and 1GB RAM. There’s also an SDHC slot on board, two cameras, a SIM card slot and HDMI Out. Windows 7 will run on the device, but these are all unofficial details, so take them with a grain of salt.

Pricing this baby with under $1000 and giving it a decent battery would make it a brilliant product. Here’s the promo video:
