The folks of The Verge had the chance to review the Acer Iconia Tab A700 before anyone else did and they actually gave it a rating of 6.9 out of 10, finding it not to be as satisfactory as the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity 700. Yes, the device has a display described as excellent, decent performance and nice software tweaks, but the design, poor cameras and not enough tablet apps pull it down.
Acer Iconia Tab A700 features a 10.1 inch 1920 x 1200 pixel display, it does 1080p video natively and its specs are very much the same as the ones on the Iconia Tab A510. The A700 has a Tegra 3 quad core CPU, a SIM card slot and 32GB of storage, plus a price tag of $449, that’s pretty appealing if you ask me. This Acer model is a 10.9 mm thick piece of machinery with a black front bezel, dimpled silver black and silver edges and darker silver sides. The camera on the A700 was found to be surprisingly noisy, grainy and soft photos, so it was a very big letdown.
From what I know the camera on the ASUS TF700 is actually pretty good, so it’s possible to achieve something in this field, when it comes to tables. The tablet runs Android 4.0.4 and scores 3,574 points in Quadrant, much more than the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, but below the ASUS Transformer Pad 300, for example. It also scores 1,210 in Vellamo, which is lower than the Nexus 7 by quite a bit and also lower than the ASUS Transformer Pad 300. I’ll let you learn more from The Verge!
