After many rumors about the iPad mini coming with the iPad 3 in 2012, now we get back to the bigger device. There’s a leaked internal component for the tablet out there, that hints at a fresh design. This is the Microphone Mic Flex Cable Ribbon, that was found on the Chinese iPhone parts reseller website TVC-Mall.

The new component was compared with the iPad 2 internals and was found to fit a different arrangement in comparison to the previous slate’s hardware. The circuitry is rearranged and the design of the new iPad has changed, with the tail end of the part making a U turn, while the iPad 2 Microphone Mic Flex cable made an almost 90 degree turn both ways. Actually, this is not much of a tease for the iPad 3, if I think about it…

I have to mention here that this piece of gear isn’t 100% set to reach the new iPad, since component makers are usually asked to create a couple of versions of parts to be tested with Apple products. Only Apple knows the final design and components and probably these include a LTE chipset and a Retina Display with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution.
