Toshiba’s follow-up to the 10.1 inch Thrive is a 7 inch version of the slate, one that’s available right now for $379.99. The device comes with 16GB of internal memory, Android Honeycomb 3.2, a dual core Tegra 2 processor and its 32GB version will be priced at $429.99, in case you want more storage.

The slate looks a lot like the first Thrive, as far as design goes and it even keeps the 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. Hopefully, this time Toshiba fixed the charging issues and bad battery life. Also, the build quality on the first Thrive was anything but top notch, so hopefully that’s fixed too. This is an .88 slate as far as weight goes and I wonder if the dual cameras are as good as the ones on the 10.1 inch model, since they were pretty decent. Also, a thing that made the original Toshiba slate stand out was the huge amount of software (preinstalled) it came with.

Knowing Toshiba, I’d say that they will stay true to this tradition and deliver yet another device filled with software. Also, I must mention that the price for the device is pretty appealing, but not as appealing as the one of the HTC Flyer or HP TouchPad, in its last fire sale. The choice is yours…
