In the meantime, the bidding got up to $1500, but the auction was pulled, most likely by HP, not happy with its unlaunched products floating around. When I first heard about the 7 inch TouchPad, it was codenamed Opal and was supposed to bring webOS to the small diagonal segment of tablets… Trademark and FCC filings were the first to show the name TouchPad Go and the project went dead just months after the first TouchPad launched…
Let me remind you that back in August HP decided to give up developing WebOS and WebOS devices alltogether, basically killing Palm and its ideas in the cradle, before they could spawn anything interesting after being purchased by HP. Considering how popular tablets such as the HTC Flyer, PlayBook and Amazon Kindle Fire have become, the HP TouchPad Go might have actually had a chance…
