Archos is ready to ship its 7 inch Home Tablet next month, for $199.99, with Amazon already taking pre-orders. The device relies on a modified version of Android 1.6 and it features a 600MHz processor, 4GB of internal storage, WiFi and USB, plus a battery that provides 7 hours of video playback and 44 hour of music.
In spite of the tablet’s lack of Android 2.1/2.2 and the negative reviews for Archos 7, many experts expect an improvement and a pretty good product. As a drawback, we must mention that the Android Market might be inaccessible, because this isn’t a Google-certified device.
