Xiaomi held a major event today, meant to debut the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 foldable phone, accompanied by the Buds 4 Pro headphones, plus the Watch S1 Pro. We also got a brand new tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4, the largest slate of the range for the company.
We’re dealing a tablet with a metal case, that uses an IPS LCD 12.4 inch panel with 2.5K resolution. It also has a 120 Hz refresh rate and very slim bezels, trimmed down even compared to the other Pad 5 units. There’s also a camera module at the back that looks like the one of the Xiaomi 12 or 12S. The device has a more landscape oriented format and comes with a maximum brightness of 500 nits, P3 color gamut and HDR10, plus Dolby Vision.
The CPU used here is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, which was also available on the POCO F3, POCO F4 and Xiaomi 12X. There’s 6 or 8 GB of RAM here, 128 or 256 GB of storage, but there’s even a top of the line 12 GB RAM/ 512 GB storage version. Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 uses a triple camera setup, with a 50 megapixel main sensor, plus a 2 MP Bokeh and 2 MP Macro cam. Some sources actually mention that both 2 MP cameras are depth of field ones.
There’s also a 20 MP selfie shooter, usable for videocalls and other such things. The 10.000 mAh battery on board is able to fully charge in 68 minutes, a 67W charge. Expect the slate to be available in black, silver and green.
