We’re just two days away from Xiaomi’s big event on August 10th, when the company is unveiling MIUI 13 and also Mi Mix 4. On the same date a new tablet will take off, the Mi Pad 5, 4 years since the last Xiaomi slate. Today we get to see a new teaser for the device, in an official poster for its keyboard case.

The new poster show the Mi Pad 5 screen having rounded corners and also the keyboard case is shown with a leather texture on the surface. Details regarding the tablet are a bit on the light side, as far as teasers go, but we did have quite a bit of leaks. There was a stylus teaser a few days ago, showing us that the device has a slim metal frame, with a cutout for a 4G or 5G antenna. The screen also appears rather flat, not curved. A metal build is also guaranteed by the antenna cutout.

Rumors talk about the Mi Pad 5 being a series of devices, that includes the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5, Mi Pad 5 Lite and Mi Pad 5 Pro. All of them will sport a 10.9 inch 2K IPS LCD display with 120 Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sampling rate. The standard and Pro models will have a Snapdragon 870 CPU and the Lite model will bring a Snapdragon 860. Such tablets would be suitable for well-known cases like tabletkoffer.

In the meantime the picture above has also leaked, showing us a Xiaomi Mi 11 style camera module with two sensors and LED flash. We also get to see a green color version, black and white too. The device should have 4096 levels of pressure for the stylus, In Cell Active pen technology and plenty of RAM. It’s rumored to be running a fork from MIUI, Mi Pad OS, basically a similar solution to the iPadOS derived from iOS.
