vivo X Fold6 book-style foldable phone

The vivo X Fold6 is aimed at people who want a foldable to function more like a compact tablet when open. Its 8.02-inch inner display supports up to four apps at once, while OriginOS 7 Fold includes a desktop mode for use with an external monitor. That combination could be useful for handling documents, email, and a browser side by side without carrying a separate tablet.

For everyday portability, vivo pairs the large interior panel with a 6.51-inch cover display. Both screens use adaptive refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz. The Horizon Blue version weighs 235 grams and measures 4.8mm when unfolded or 9.9mm when closed, measurements that matter more for a device expected to spend much of its time in a pocket.

Battery, cameras, and long-term software support

A 6,900mAh battery is one of the more notable specifications for a book-style foldable with an 8.02-inch inner screen. The X Fold6 supports 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. It runs on the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, and vivo says it will receive five years of operating-system updates and seven years of security updates.

The phone’s camera hardware is also a central part of its pitch, with vivo’s V3+ imaging chip supporting the system.

  • 200MP main camera
  • 50MP ultrawide camera
  • Periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom

The cover screen can display a rear-camera framing preview or act as a teleprompter while recording. Those are practical uses of the foldable format that do not depend on running multiple apps at once.

Availability remains regional

Following its global debut earlier this month, the X Fold6 is officially listed in Hungary through Alza in a 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration. The Horizon Blue model is priced at 799,990 Hungarian forints. U.S. pricing and availability have not been confirmed.

vivo also offers a separate ZEISS Gen 2 teleconverter for 129,990 Hungarian forints, plus a mounting case for 29,990 Hungarian forints. The teleconverter has 2.35x optical magnification. vivo’s product materials note that its 200mm-equivalent result also uses digital cropping, so that figure should not be read as purely optical reach.

With its large tablet-like panel, external-display mode, and sizeable battery, the X Fold6 appears designed for mobile workers and heavy multitaskers rather than buyers looking only for a compact foldable phone. Whether it will become an option for U.S. buyers remains an open question.
