Aside from every big company and their mother preparing gaming phones, now there’s a trend with gaming notebooks. Acer, HP, Lenovo and ASUS were already accustomed to these launches, but now the big Chinese players want a piece. Xiaomi has started teasing one such gaming notebook via the posters shown below. And it’s not even their first model…
Xiaomi was already making a few laptops, which rivaled the Apple MacBooks in build and even specs, or the Huawei Matebook if you want. Now they’re prepping something called “Xiaomi Gaming Notebook”, ready for debut at ChinaJoy 2018 on August 3rd. They’re pushing this as a “monster” product, equipped with 8th gen Intel Core processor and GTX 1060, plus GTX 1050 Ti graphics cards. The first gen Xiaomi Gaming Notebook relied on an Intel 7th gen Core i5 or Core i7 CPU, plus a GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1060 graphics card.
It also had 8 GB or 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, plus 256 GB of SSD storage and 1 TB of HDD, so we could say it was a pretty good all rounder. This time we seem to be getting newer CPUs and I sure hope for a graphics card upgrade. Otherwise, the screen stays the same: a narrow bezel 15.6 incher, probably just Full HD, with a wide 72% NTSC color gamut and 178 degree wide viewing angle.
There are two 3W speakers in the mix with Dolby Panorama Sound, as well as a 3+2 large diameter bold heat pipe. People are claiming that this product may feel similar or rival MSI’s latest announcements of the sort, also coming during the same event in China.
