Arguably one of the better sold midrange Samsung tablets over the past years was the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. Today brings us the news that the device is now being updated to Android 13 and One UI 5.0.
Back in mid November, we saw the Galaxy Tab S8 series being updated to the same OS. Now the Tab S6 Lite gets the update and we’re talking about the 2022 model, not the 2020 edition. That one was left with Android 12L and One UI 4.1.1. The Tab S6 Lite 2022 4G, codenamed SM-P619 is getting the fresh software, better said firmware P619XXU1BVK6, which also includes the November 2022 security patch.
Right now, the software has bee confirmed in France, but Samsung is also planning to bring it to several other European countries. Once the update is applied, users should feel a boost in performance, a redesigned Settings app, a brand new lockscreen customization menu, improved background app management and other minor improvements. There’s also access to the new multi window gestures, that make multitasking easier.
We should also get the update on the 2020 model at some point, but we’re not sure that will happen this year. The New Tab S6 Lite has a 10.4 inch TFT LCD display, a Snapdragon 720G CPU, 4 GB of RAM and a bundled stylus.
