Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 has finally started receiving the Android 10 update, that bundles One UI 2.0. The device is no spring chicken, having been announced back in August 2018, but it’s still a looker even today, perhaps even more so than the Tab S6. We have details below.
It came with Oreo originally and jumped to Android Pie last April. Now it’s getting it second and most likely last update, via Android 10 with One UI 2.0. It also brings the Android Security Patch for June 1st 2020. The brand new firmware carries the Dark Mode, minimalistic and clear app icons, improved layout for titles and buttons and also smoother animations. There are now full screen navigation gestures associated with Android 10 and a more intuitive Back button, if you need it.
There’s also the new Quick Share, that combines WiFi and Bluetooth for content sharing with Samsung devices and also Music Share, which makes your tablet a hub for speakers. I should also mention that the update is only available for the 4G LTE flavour of the device, SM-T835 in Europe. The changelog also includes darkened wallpapers and widgets, high contrast keyboards and layouts for better accessibility and improved SmartThings control.
Device care has a more detailed battery graph and the camera has the ability to edit the modes that appear at the bottom of the screen. Bixby Home also gets replaced with Samsung Daily, as seen on all recent Samsung phones. The gallery also gets a ton of new video and photo editing features, first seen on the Galaxy Note 10. If you’re in UK or France right now, you probably already have the software.
