Samsung seems to be switching up its tablet playbook. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra — the South Korean giant’s next flagship Android slate — just made a surprise appearance on Geekbench, revealing a powerful and unexpected core: MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+.
The benchmarked device, listed under the model number SM-X736B, runs on MediaTek’s top-tier 3nm octa-core SoC, the Dimensity 9400+, which is built to rival Qualcomm’s best. It’s a notable upgrade from the Dimensity 9300+ that powered the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, and a clear signal that Samsung is giving MediaTek a serious seat at the premium table.
Inside the 9400+, you’ll find a cutting-edge 1+3+4 architecture: a single Cortex-X925 prime core at 3.73GHz, three performance cores at 3.30GHz, and four efficiency cores humming at 2.40GHz. For graphics, there’s a 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU, and AI workloads are handled by the upgraded MediaTek NPU 890. But don’t panic. These numbers likely reflect early prototype hardware, not the final retail performance.
The Tab S11 Ultra is also rumored to ship with at least 12GB of RAM, run Android 16 out of the box, and support cutting-edge connectivity like Wi-Fi 7 with tri-band concurrency and dual Bluetooth engines — all enabled by the Dimensity 9400+ platform. This should position it as not just a media powerhouse, but also a versatile productivity machine.
