While the Galaxy Tab S2 tablets are getting their share of Marshmallow updates in Q2 next year, we can’t help but wonder how long it will take for the first gen Tab S units to get it. Anyway, those models are getting another type of software support today, of the CyanogenMod kind.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 WiFi are now getting official CyanogenMod support. This means that nightly builds are available for download, here for the Tab S 10.5 WiFi and here for the Tab S 8.4 LTE. The Tab S 8.4 WiFi previous got support a few months ago, so this move doesn’t come as a surprise.

As usual you should back up everything and proceed with caution, since nightly builds are always in development. You should also make sure your device is rooted and know what you’re doing with the flashing process. With this in mind, you will have Marshmallow soon on your tabs.
