Today, Barnes & Noble announced a new NOOK device, this time a different one of what you’re expecting from this company. Thereby, the new NOOK doesn’t packs an e-ink display or any other dedicated reading functions, as it’s based on the Samsung Galaxy Tab E tablet.

As you already know, this device comes with a big 9.6 inch display with HD resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, 16 GB space of internal storage + microSD card slot up to 128 GB, a quad-core Qualcomm APQ 8016 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, GPS + Glonass, dual stereo speakers, WiFi and a battery that promises up to 12 hours of video playback with a single charge.

There’s a 2-megapixel front-facing cam, a 5-megapixel rear camera and Microsoft Office suite pre-loaded on the device. We also get the multi-window feature that allows to use two apps in the same time on the screen side by side. Getting to prices, you must know that this Galaxy Tab E NOOK will cost you $249.99.
