Samsung’s wheels are always in motion and right now they’re preparing a new wave of midrange tablets. We’re talking about the Galaxy Tab A models, that will include a Galaxy Tab a 8.0 (2017) unit, which has already leaked in GFXBench and we dissected the info below.

The product is listed under the codename SM-T385 and we find out that it features a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset, clocked at 1.4 GHz, as well as 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. Obviously, we are dealing with an 8 incher here, with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, a front 5 MP camera and an 8 MP main shooter. There’s also an accelerometer in the mix, AGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 7.0 Nougat.

We are also expecting an unibody shell made of metal, a back panel made of polycarbonate and a price tag of around $200 or maybe $250 tops. If the Galaxy Tab A models before are any indication, battery life should be great and productivity will be highlighted by the presence of Microsoft Office applications. An IFA launch is possible, but we may also see it before that.
