The AT&T flavour of the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 has just receiving the OTA update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop it seems. This was one of the best business tablet we reviewed last year and in spite of being very big, it was also very helpful.
Of course, everybody else is talking about Android 6.0 Marshmallow these days, but there’s a long way to go till that comes to this slate. Verizon released a similar OTA update for the very same tablet last week, so it was only a matter of time till AT&T did the same. Samsung and AT&T have bumped the behemoth to Android 5.1.1 and probably also did some modifications that bring the new TouchWiz from the Tab S2 models.
This one is a hefty 1 GB download, so it needs a bit of time to fully download. The new firmware version is now P907AUCU1BOH3 and it’s based on Android build LMY47X, just like most of the Android 5.1.1 builds out there that Samsung has offered. AT&T claims that some of the preinstalled apps have been removed, hopefully not the ones that added to the $600+ package of premium subscriptions and apps that came with the device.
The list of removals includes WatchON, Beats Music and Famigo Kids. A new app has come instead: Amazon Shopping.
