Samsung Galaxy Note users in the UK have just started receiving notifications regarding the latest Android OS update, taking their behemoth of a device to Android 4.0 ICS. The phablet has sold in excess of 5-7 million units, so it’s a certain success, so big that it got an enlarged Galaxy Note 10.1 bigger brother.
The device packs a 5.3 inch touchcreen with 1280 x 800 resolution and it came preloaded with Gingerbread late last year. Now you can run Android 4.0 on it, thanks to a 1.4 GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor and 1GB of RAM. The update means that the users can also take advantage of the Premium Suite app pack, so digital content on the device will be personalized using the S-Pen, with support for grids, tables and notes. S-Note and My Story will also allow sketching if you’re into that.
Obviously, aside from that you get the kickass Android 4.0, with swiping multitasking, better stability, camera UI update, system enhancements and better battery management. The new S Note app that’s bundled allows the user to create his/her notebook on the device with 7 templates to choose from: Note, Meeting Note, Idea Note, Magazine, Travel, Diary and Recipe. Adding pictures and doodling is also supported. Automatic Shape Correction is another new feature, that helps the user straighten lines and create perfect rectangular shape objects.
