Samsung is really basking in the glory of having fixed all the problems of the Galaxy Fold and since September is just a few days away, it’s time for the hype to start. Turns out that the pre-registration page of the Galaxy Fold has been opened in China.
The device was supposed to debut in May or June, but it got delayed after the press found problems with it. There were hinge issues, lint getting in and the screen protection was too easy to remove. The corrected design has a lid on the hinge and an extended and expanded protection, that’s harder to peel off. The redesigned model is expect in stores in September, with the same price.
We expect a showcasing at IFA 2019 in Berlin starting next week. So, in the meantime if you’re a potential buyer of the Galaxy Fold in China, you can pre-register on the dedicated page to learn when it becomes available. Through this process we’ll learn how many people in China are still interested in the foldable. Seeing how the Huawei Mate X has been postponed till November, there’s not much of an alternative for the Galaxy Fold.
There’s always the FlexPai from Royole, but that’s hard to come by. There’s already talk of the Galaxy Fold 2, with an 8 inch screen and a special flexible glass protection, but that’s 2020 material. Galaxy Fold comes with a Snapdragon 855 CPU, UFS 3.0 storage, Super AMOLED 7.3 inch screen and a combo of 3 cameras: 16 MP + 12 MP + 12 MP.
You can pre register here.
