Honestly, I had no idea that Xiaomi also branched out its Redmi brand into the world of tablets. It surprised me to see that there’s a Redmi Pad out there and today we learn that a Redmi Pad 5 may come to India soon.
The info comes from a reliable tipster, saying that the device may drop as soon as “the coming days”. Mukul Sharma is the trusted leakster and Xiaomi is coming after a flurry of recent unveilings in India, including the Xiaomi Pad 5, Smart 5A TV series and Xiaomi 12 series. The new tablet will be an affordable model, perhaps one related to the Mi Pad 5. According to ITHome, the Redmi Pad 5 will arrive with 30W fast charging, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor and 5G, (SA and NSA).
Upfront we’ll find a screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate, but sadly we have no idea what the diagonal or resolution are right now. The device will keep the ultra linear quad speaker setup of the bigger brother, the Xiaomi Pad 5. Odds are that the two of them are the same exact thing with a different name. We’ll also get MIUI 13 in a special tablet version, stylus support, an 11 inch screen and a 4K video capable main 13 MP camera.
