Apple is very important for Pegatron, being one of their main customers. They handle the manufacturing of components for the iPhone 4S and iPad Mini and turns out that business hasn’t been flourishing lately, according to sources from the company.
After info that Foxconn has been getting lower revenue because of less demand for Apple products, the same thing happens to Pegatron. The company predicts that its consumer electronics revenue will drop 25 to 30% all because of Apple and the iPad Mini specifically. That device along stands for almost half of Pegatron’s consumer electronics revenue.
CEO Jason Chen claims that the revenue dropped because of lower iPad Mini demand and not the price. Apparently, this is a general trend, since e-readers and game consoles have registered the same decrease in sales. The iPad Mini demand is estimated to fall between 20% to 30% in this quarter, compared to the previous one.
