It appears that the 20 inch prototype tablet from Panasonic with a 4K display will actually be turned into a commercial tablet, with the aid of Microsoft. Back in the days of CES 2013, Panasonic brought along a prototype model, with a 20 inch diagonal and Windows 8 as the OS.
The device’s selling point was the 4K resolution display, with a resolution of 3840 x 2560, for those of you not familiar with the format. Recent reports claim that the slate, in its finalized commercial version will be hitting the stores sometime this year. It will be excellent for the likes of artists, architects and all the branches who actually have to draw and conceptualize stuff.
Business offices may also benefit from the features of the new product and I can already envision some PowerPoint or Photoshop action on it. All we know about the 4K tablet right now is that it uses a LCD display, Windows 8, a 20 inch diagonal and we have no idea what CPU or RAM quantity it will come with. We can’t even tell if it will have Windows RT or regular Windows 8.
