The lower limit of prices for Intel Windows 8 slates keeps dropping and we’ve seen models easily going down the $150 mark, sometimes even $100 lately. Today we come across the ONDA V891w, an Intel-powered quad core tablet that features an 8.9 inch display and it’s priced at $130.
The product is now on sale on Tmall.com and it adopts an IPS panel, with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, while its CPU is the famous Intel Atom Bay Trail Z3735F. This one is a quad core CPU, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and an important aspect to notice here is that we also get a Home button. The device has free Windows 8.1 on board since the screen is smaller than 9 inch and there’s also one year of free Office 365.
The slate packs 32 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and at the back you’ll find a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus. Upfront there’s a webcam for selfies and I have to say the $130 price tag is very appealing, particularly for this screen resolution. By the way, there’s also WiFi, WiDi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB Host and Intel HD Graphics Gen7 for the GPU.
