Nintendo is preparing an affordable console/tablet for this fall, a product priced at $129.99. The device is called Nintendo 2DS and it will be able to play all the Nintendo 3DS games in 2D.
This affordable model seems bulky and uncomfortable to use, especially since it can’t be folded like a regular DS. Nintendo 2DS launches on October 12th and it will come in red or blue. It can play the entire library of packaged and downloadable games for Nintendo 3DS and the system features what Nintendo calls a “slate type form factor”.
Specs include dual screens, game play controls, touchscreen features and backward compatibility with over 2000 Nintendo DS titles. Wireless connectivity and multiplayer are also here and we wonder how much memory the slate comes with. Are you getting one?
