We were pretty surprised that Huawei didn’t decide to bring more tablets to MWC 2016 and just showed the MateBook model there. That’s why we’re eager to see what they bring to the Huawei P9 event next month. For example the freshly leaked PLE-703L slate could be there.

The device was certified in China recently and also leaked in a few shots. The product has a large touchscreen display, but also a fingerprint scanner placed on the side, pretty much like on the Xperia Z5 models. A smaller model had been certified by TENAA recently, with 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity, but without revealing extra details.

The device shown here seems to use an ultra narrow frame display and a chassis with rounded edges. It may not be a metal chassis, but rather a plastic one. We could see this model ending up as a huge Honor device, with a 6.6 inch or 7 inch display, perhaps an AMOLED panel and Quad HD resolution. The HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor will also be on board, with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage in the mix, too. That’s all speculation and theory, keep that in mind.

A version derived from the Huawei M2 device is also possible, with a Snapdragon 615 processor, an 8 megapixel camera and more midrange specs. We’ll probably learn more in April.
