Japanese company NEC announced today a brand new tablet, a powerhouse of a slate actually. The device is dubbed NEC LaVie Tab and it comes with a 10 inch display, Windows on board and an Intel Atom x7 chipset.
The slate’s full name is actually NEC LaVie W TW710 and it includes a 10.1 inch 1920 x 1200 pixel display, as well as an Intel Atom x7-8700 processor and 4 GB of RAM. There’s also 64 GB of storage available, plus a detachable keyboard in the package and an active digitizer pen. The slate brings WiFi 802.11ac connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 and uses Windows 10 Home 64 bit as the software.
There’s a 5 MP back camera, a 1.2 MP front shooter, plus an USB 3.0 port in the mix and a microSD card slot. Stereo speakers have also been included, plus a battery good enough for 11.5 hours of functioning time. The product measures 0.35 inches in thickness and weighs 1.3 pounds. The keyboard dock brings the total weight to 2.5 pounds. NEC prices the device at $600 in Japan.
With the keyboard dock it goes up to $700.
