Dish Network has a neat Sling Mobile-associated offer available for portable devices, involving free live TV streaming through mobile apps. The iPhone and iPad app (and soon an Android app) only allow the devices to control the DVR (SlingLoaded VIP922) for now, but starting September, they’ll provide the same features as the $29.99 SlingPlayer Mobile.
Dish subscribers won’t have to pay a dime extra, other than the fee for the DVR or the set tops connected to the Slingbox.
