As the rumors about a new Microsoft All in One PC or potentially a new coffee tablet are spreading, we also learn of a project called La Table Kineti. This one is a Windows 10-based touchscreen coffee table from France, that mimics the “Surface Table”.
French company Kineti is behind it and the appeal here is certainly the lower price. La Table Kineti is a Windows 10-powered touchscreen device, with support for multi touch and multiple simultaneous users. We’re dealing with a 42 inch 1080p display on this model, one that’s also waterproof, so you can use the device as a real table.
Users will be able to easily share photos and videos from smartphones and tablets to the table, as well as control smart home devices and tilt the display up for videoconferences even. Priced at $5,600, this may sound like a lot, till you remember that Microsoft’s first Surface Tables were scored at around $12,500 and $8,400.
I’d see this as a coffee shop investment, rather than home use. You can buy the product here, with a Core i5 CPU and 8 GB of RAM.
