Tomorrow is the big iPad 3/iPad HD event day and we’ve already heard from tons of sources that this device will sport a Retina Display. Now we even get sort of an official confirmation, courtesy of an event banner that you can see below. This 2048 x 1536 pixel display will really change the game on the tablet market, since it will prompt other hardware makers to reach the same level of resolution.
Everything will become clear tomorrow, as people have started speculating about an iPad Mini to follow the iPad 3 launch this year. The things to watch out for during the conference are the debut of iOS 5.1, a preview of iOS 6.0, maybe some new killer apps specifically created for the Retina Display and of course, the demo of the tablet. I’m really curios about the CPU here, although A5xx dual core is starting to sound more realistic in comparison to the quad core A6 processor.
Lately we’ve also found out that the device won’t include LTE and might cost $500 in the 16 GB WiFi version. Nobody’s talking about the cameras though, so there’s no way of telling if the slate will come with a 5 or 8 MP photo sensor. What do you think?
