A home Wi-Fi router is usually something to hide behind a TV or cabinet. Huawei’s next one may be intended for the bookshelf instead. He Gang, CEO of Huawei’s Consumer Business division, shared teaser images of a bookcase and challenged viewers to spot the new device among the volumes. The product visible in the images appears to be the Huawei Router X2 Pro.
The router is shown standing upright on a middle shelf, where its brown textured enclosure and book-like proportions let it fade into the surrounding décor. The early pitch is clearly about keeping networking equipment in plain sight without making it look like typical consumer electronics—an approach that could suit a connected-home setup supporting tablets, laptops, and other wireless devices.
Hardware details are still missing

Huawei has not yet said where the Router X2 Pro fits in its router range beyond the X2 Pro name. The teaser does not establish whether it uses Wi-Fi 7 or another wireless standard, so its performance and network features cannot yet be compared with current models.
- Wireless standard and maximum Wi-Fi speeds
- Ethernet port selection and other physical connectivity
- Mesh-networking capabilities
- Price, launch timing, and markets where it will be sold, including the United States

Huawei has previously explored decorative router designs with its WiFi Mesh X3 Pro, which uses a snow-capped mountain-inspired enclosure with ambient lighting. That model supports dual-band Wi-Fi 7 and has a stated combined theoretical speed of up to 3.6 Gbps. The Router X2 Pro appears to take the same design-minded direction in a more understated form, but its practical network credentials will have to wait for a full announcement.
