Since Huawei has been registering some serious profits over the past quarters, it seems they’re ready to experiment and venture into experimental territories. They’re now dead set on making an iPad Pro rival, also a Galaxy Tab S6 rival. It’s called Huawei MatePad Pro and it has just leaked again.

A couple of weeks ago we saw some renders of it and now we learn it name and some details. Huawei MatePad Pro is going to have a dual lens back camera and play nicely with a keyboard and stylus. It’ll also inaugurate the punch hole camera at the front side. Expect a glass and metal body, a slim waistline, if it indeed wants to rival the Galaxy Tab S6 and the brand new Kirin 990 CPU inside.

A magnetic keyboard much like the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio will be in the mix. Probably sold separately… The stylus could be attached to the top of the slate, like the Apple Pencil does on the iPad Pro. There will be no visible fingerprint sensor, so it’ll probably be hidden within the screen. Or maybe we just get an advanced face unlock and that’s it.

The tablet is also expected to have a 5G version, up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage, plus a large battery. MediaPad M6 launched in June, so it’s still a fresh product. I expect the MediaPad 7 to be separate from the Pro and an unveiling at MWC 2020.
