Over the past week we learned that Huawei was preparing a new MediaPad tablet, presumably MediaPad 7. It drew some inspiration from the MatePad Pro and its punch hole camera upfront. Now turns out there’s another model coming, a lighter MatePad Pro simply called “MatePad“. It has just leaked and it’s detailed below.

Huawei MatePad appeared on the web this weekend in the poster shown above. It confirms some of the already leaked specs, which actually pointed erroneously towards the MediaPad M7. It seems that the slate will come in gray and gray and its bezels aren’t as slim as one would expect for 2020, which may be a sign of a midrange approach. Oddly enough there’s no punch hole here, but we do get a stylus in the mix. It also looks like a beefier device compared to the MatePad Pro and the Galaxy Tab S series.

According to the leaks, this MatePad has a Quad HD screen, a Kirin 810 processor and exclusive educational features. This product will be pushed towards an audience made of students. Other reports talk about a 10.4 inch display, WiFi and 4G versions, up to 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. There’s also a 7250 mAh battery on board, and an USB-C port for charging. And then there’s the 8 megapixel back camera (which seemed like a dual camera first) and a front cam with the same resolution.

We also get Bluetooth 5.1 and there’s apparently a Lite version of EMUI 10.1 on top of Android 10. Google services and Play Store are of course lacking.
