Although it has its hands full with Android, Windows Phone and sometimes Brew OS, HTC is also interested in Chrome OS now, according to some recent rumors. Maybe they want a piece of that sweet looking ultrabook pie, who knows? Apparently, the Taiwanese device maker wants to combine the user-friendly side of Android with the features of Chrome.

The result would be Internet-driven devices and tablets are first that come to mind here. Not so long ago, some screenshots from the Chrome tablet OS were leaked and the platform looked very nice. A smartbook could also be among HTC’s plans, since it would be a pity not to exploit this popular niche as well. Imagine a cheap portable gizmo with ARM processor and Chrome OS… it will have very fast boot, good battery life and all the functionality one needs. You were able to play you favorite slots online as well as other things your mind could imagine in a working computer! this is amazing!

It’s a big gamble to move to smartbooks or ultrabooks now when everyone is all about tablets, but gambling is all that HTC affords to do, since they haven’t made a big splash in the tablet market anyway. Their only hope is that quad core tablet everyone is talking about and even that’s not a certain hit…
