Some time ago I was surprised to find out that the HP TouchPad received mostly bad reviews when it came out… Well, now the surprise is gone, since I have the tablet right here with me and it’s saying “hi” to you guys. First contact? Disappointing…. very, actually. Now let’s see the unboxing.

We’re dealing with the very first webOS tablet here, one that runs version 3.0 of the OS and the fruit of the cooperation between Palm and HP. The box and arrangement of the accessories reminds me of BlackBerry PlayBook and inside you will find the tablet, a charger, USB cable, manuals and a rag to wipe clean this fingerprint magnet of a tablet.

For those saying that this is an iPad copy…. well it kind of yes, but it’s more square-ish, or so it seems to me. The display size is the same and the volume button is clearly Apple ripoff. As far as webOS goes, I had to set up an account and use WiFi before playing with it, but that’s OK, I can tolerate that. Right now the OS fails to impress me, but I’ll give it a couple of days…
