HP has a new business Windows tablet out, a 12.5 inch model with a fanless design and integrated kickstand. This is a solid device, that supports quite a few accessories and it’s priced starting at $899. Its name is HP Elite x2 1012.
This is basically a business version of the HP Spectre x2, that debuted in October. It brings a few extras like Intel chips with vPro and optional functionality, including fingerprint scanners and smartcard readers. x2 1012 is up for preorder on November 23rd and ships in January, so a bit of waiting is required.
The entry level model comes with 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of SSD storage and an Intel Core M3 Skylake chipset. HP also offers a version with 8 GB of RAM, up to 512 GB storage and goes up to a Core M7 chipset. a Wacom pen and travel keyboard are also offered. The keyboard draws power from the battery and there’s also the option of an Advanced keyboard with a SmartCard reader and NFC.
The slate comes with an USB Type C/Thunderbolt port and a full size USB port. Battery life is promised to be 10 hours.
