China is pretty popular for its cloned tablets, most of them packing MediaTek processors, or Rockchip ones, but a device with an ARM Cortex A15 inside is a real surprise, if you ask me. Freelander PD800HD adopts an Exynos 5250 processor, the same dual core unit under the hood of the Nexus 10.

Samsung’s 1.7 GHz CPU is what makes it tick and other specs include a 9.7 inch 2048 x 1536 IPS display, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. There’s also dual cameras, HDMI, WiFi, Bluetooth and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as the OS. If the picture shown above is real, then the device doesn’t quite stand out when it comes to design, being a basic rectangular slab.

However, the Retina display and strong CPU make a good team and possibly deliver a good gaming experience. Also, thumbs up for seeing Android 4.2 on a Chinese tablet so early. I wonder if we’ll ever see this model exported to other countries…
