Evolio Evotab 2 is a Romanian tablet that’s priced below $200 and it comes with a 7 inch display and 1GHz CPU. Well, the device has just arrived to us for testing purposes and we’ve unboxed it, as you can see below. The first thing one notices is the denim-colored box of the slate.

Inside we find the white tablet with a design that reminds me of an e-reader, plus a charger, headphones, an USB cable and manual. The slate boots in a reasonable amount of time, has a full USB port and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with a skin made to resemble Android 3.x Honeycomb. The build quality is not that great, but for $200 I’ll let that slide. Over the following days I’ll try to find out if there’s more to this thingie than meets the eye.

So far so good…. the product looks decent and already has a bonus through that USB port. Let’s hope the battery life doesn’t disappoint and there’s not much lag in its use.

  • The company is Televoice, not Evolio. Evolio is their brand name.

    wow,
$200USD!  I work for Flastar Technology, a tablet PC manufacturer.  I even know the factory that makes tablet pc
for View Sonics.  It is 2 blocks from my office.   Our factory
can make the exact same quality as Evolio Evotab 2 for about $70USD or less.  Now, we all have witness the power of
branding.  A logo of Evolio imprinted on
a Chinese made tablet pc can worth $100USD or more.
