Ematic is a low cost tablet maker, that has a wide range of Android and Windows slates in its portofolio. A new model has been certified over at the FCC, also generating a leak in the process, fully documented below.

The newcomer is called Ematic EGQ178 and it’s a budget 7.9 inch Android 5.0 tablet. It’s the first model from this company that ships with Android 5.0 and it’s expected to be very cheap. On board we find a 7.9 inch 1024 x 768 pixel display, a 1.2 GHz Allwinner A33 ARM Cortex A7 quad core CPU, 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, a microSD card slot with support for up to 32 GB, a 2 MP rear camera and 0.3 MP front shooter.

There’s WiFi on board, Bluetooth too and a 3000 mAh battery. The description of the tablet mentions a soft touch body and on board there’s a microUSB port for charging, an audio jack and front and rear cameras. The product uses a 4:3 aspect ratio and the EGQ178 is expected to be sold for $100 or less.
