Chuwi has been using crowdfunding quite a bit for its latest products, including the Chuwi AeroBook. The device is up on Indiegogo right now and it’s looking mighty appealing at $399 and up for a Core m3 CPU.
This is a slim and light laptop with a 13.3 inch screen, that feels like a very lite version of a MacBook Air. It’s got the Full HD resolution and an Intel Core m3-6Y30 CPU, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage (at least). The retail price will be $499, so the $399 is a special offer. The units ship from April and design-wise they feel a bit like a Huawei MateBook or an ASUS VivoBook.
There’s a 16:9 aspect here and the bezels are reasonably narrow. The CPU used here is a 6th gen Intel Core m3 Skylake from 2015, so it’s not exactly a powerhouse, but it beats the current Celeron and Pentium Gemini Lake CPUs. Aside from the 128 GB of eMMC storage you can also add an extra SSD. There will also be 256 GB and even 1 TB models.
We’ve got a backlit keyboard here, a 38 Wh battery and two full sized USB 3.0 ports, as well as a micro HDMI and audio jack. We don’t forget about a microSD card reader and large touchpad. Everything crammed into a 2.77 pound heavy chassis.
