Since I reviewed the Nokia Lumia 1520 I also got to play some games on it, including the hit title Asphalt 8 Airborne. This game is available for one euro on the Windows Phone 8 platform and you can check it out in action below.
As you can see, we’ve got top notch graphics, dynamic lighting and excellent environment deformation. The speed sensation is great and the colors are vivid. The graphics are very crisp, since we are dealing with a Snapdragon 800 device with an Adreno 330 GPU after all. The soundtrack is great and the speaker at the back is not muffled, since you can’t exactly cover it, so the audio is excellent.
One aspect of the gaming is the temperature of the device, that tends to increase dramatically when playing games. You may reach as high as 45 degrees Celsius after 15 minutes of gameplay. However, the experience is still appealing on the big 6 inch Full HD screen, with strong hardware in the back. The Lumia 1520 is a solid console replacement and if you can get past the temperature thing, then gaming will be stupendous.
