As we proceed further into the month of October, we also learn that Apple will launch the M2 CPU-based iPad Pro in just a few days. Actually, two new iPad Pros with the CPU are expected “in a matter of days”, according to people in the know.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg is quoted as the main source for the info, in his latest newsletter. The journalist claims that the 11 inch and 12.9 inch slate will be just an incremental upgrade from the models before. They could get improved charging. The date October 27th has been thrown around, which is when Apple reveals its quarterly and yearly earnings. We won’t see an event though, just an announcement of availability on Apple’s website.

The new iPad Pro could feature MagSafe charging capabilities and we could also see reverse wireless charging, which means we could share “juice” to an iPhone or Apple Watch. iPadOS 16 will also be launched soon, after its delay having to do with the Center Stage problems. Gurman also claims that there are stock shortages for the Apple Watch Ultra, which are being caused by the band, not the device itself.

Back to the iPads, they’re codenamed J617 and J620 and they’ll be the first high end iPad upgrades ever since April 2021. That’s when they both got the M1 CPU and mini LED screen on the 12.9 inch model. The M2 CPU should bring improved performance, including charging. Designs will stay the same and also there’s no mini LED on the 11 inch iPad Pro apparently.
