Apple is supposed to have cut the iPad Mini shipments to between 10 and 12 million units for Q2 2013, say industry sources. The figures are based on shipment information provided by multiple sources, who supply various components for the Apple iPad Mini.
The drop will be about 20% on month during April, according to insiders and it may continue to decrease slightly throughout the quarter, bringing the total shipments of the iPad Mini to 10 million units. The Apple cut may come as it prepares to receive the next gen iPad Mini, that will most likely be released in Q3, if everything goes well.
Apple may also be playing it safe, since demand has decreased and the competition is serving 7 inch Android tablets that are cheaper and more appealing. The glorious times of the iPad Mini were at the end of 2012 and I suspect that the end of 2013 will also be a huge boon for Apple’s new iPad Mini.
