Amazon is offering a tempting deal for one of its tablets, the Amazon Fire HD 8. The device was already pretty affordable, but it now gets even more so, after a $20 cut. This all happens on the occasion of Amazon Prime Day.

The device goes for just $69.99 today and we’re talking about an Amazon Fire HD 8 6th gen tablet. Both the 16 GB and 32 GB modes have been discounted, simply because there’s now a 7th gen tablet out there. The Fire HD 8 isn’t exactly a beast in term of specs, but it offers decent performance, courtesy of a 1.3 GHz quad core processor, decent for casual mobile gaming.

The slate offers access to Amazon’s Alexa virtual assistant and it brings an 8 inch HD screen and Dolby Audio. It’s available in 4 colors and also provides a microSD card slot. The whole thing weighs 341 grams and measures 9.2 mm in thickness. It relies on an IPS panel with advanced polarizing filter and the battery life is supposed to be 12 hours, if you’re doing reading, web surfing, video watching and music listening.
