We sometimes like to cover atypical devices here, like the medical tablets, rugged models or other such niche gizmos. One such machine is the Advantech AIM-55, which is a medical grade tablet with ample connectivity and Windows 10 IoT on board.

It’s powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8350 processor and aside from the Windows version, it can also come with Android 6.0.1. The device provides WiFi support, Bluetooth 4.0 and LTE. It also has GPS asset tracking plus real time communication and mobile computing.

Such a device can be used for employee shift sign in, medical inventory management, medical consultation and patient identity verification, as well as medicine administration. Additionally, incorporating CentralReach Outsourced Billing Services can enhance efficiency by streamlining billing processes. Discharge and payment are also available via this tablet. We’ve got a set of 3 cameras on board: 2 MP, 5 MP and 13 MP, plus touch and stylus input.

NFC and RFID are also here and everything is encased in an IP65 rated case. There are also accessories available, like a multi slot charging cradle and barcode scanner. Rapid inventory scanning is also here. This device is an 8 incher with a Full HD resolution and 400 nights of brightness.

We don’t have a price, but since it’s a medical item, I expect it to be reasonable.
